Multi baguette lab moissanite. Bezel set. A raised geometric box setting housing multiple step-cut stones in a strict rectangular frame — a distinctly Art Deco ring architecture.

This multi baguette moissanite ring features multiple lab-created moissanite stones — a combination of 4×2mm baguette-cut and round stones — bezel-set within a raised box setting that forms a geometric frame above the band. The box setting's raised rectangular profile and the baguette cut's straight-edged rectangular silhouette are closely aligned: where a round-stone ring tends toward a soft, curved overall outline, a baguette box ring reads as an architectural object on the finger, its flat planes and straight edges producing a strictly geometric visual impression. The bezel setting wraps a continuous metal collar around each stone's perimeter, holding each stone securely and creating clean metal borders between adjacent stones that emphasize the grid-like arrangement of the baguettes within the box. Available in 925 sterling silver, yellow gold plated, or rose gold plated in whole and quarter sizes from US 3 to 9 3/4. Handcrafted in Jaipur.

The Baguette Cut

The baguette cut is a step cut — a rectangular stone with flat, parallel facets arranged in steps from the table (flat top face) down to the culet (base), without the angled brilliant facets of a round or princess cut. The baguette's name comes from the French word for the long, narrow bread loaf — the cut's elongated rectangular proportions are its defining characteristic. Step-cut facets produce a distinctly different optical behavior from brilliant facets: rather than the scattered, multi-directional sparkle of a brilliant cut, step-cut facets produce broad, calm planes of reflected light — large, mirror-like flashes that move slowly as the stone or the viewer's position shifts, rather than the rapid, dispersed scintillation of a brilliant. In moissanite, which has a refractive index of 2.65–2.69 (higher than diamond's 2.42), the step-cut facets of a baguette produce strong, clean reflections with the moissanite's characteristic high-dispersion fire visible at the stone's edges where the facets meet at sharper angles. Multiple baguettes set side by side in a box setting create a pattern of parallel reflective planes across the setting's face — a characteristic Art Deco visual effect.

The Box Setting and Art Deco Geometry

A box setting — also called a box-top, pavé box, or architectural setting in different contexts — raises the stone arrangement above the band level within a geometric frame, creating a distinct elevated structure that is visible and readable as a three-dimensional form from the side as well as from above. The box profile gives the ring a more substantial, architectural presence than a flush or low-profile setting, and the rectangular or square outline of the box frame directly mirrors the baguette cut's rectangular stone shape, creating a formal correspondence between the setting's architecture and the stones it contains. This combination of rectangular step-cut stones within a rectangular architectural setting frame is among the most characteristic design signatures of Art Deco jewelry (1920s–30s), where strict geometric order, architectural mass, and step-faceted stones were consistently favored over the flowing organic curves and round brilliant stones of earlier periods. The style has been continuously revived in antique-inspired contemporary jewelry for its bold, uncompromising geometric character.

Bezel Setting Within a Box

Within the box setting, each stone is held by an individual bezel — a continuous metal collar that wraps around the stone's perimeter at the girdle. In a multi-stone baguette arrangement, the individual bezels for adjacent stones share metal walls, creating the grid-like pattern of thin metal borders visible between stones from above. These shared metal borders serve both a structural function (holding each stone independently within the box frame) and an aesthetic one: the clean, straight metal lines between baguettes reinforce the rectangular geometry of the overall design, the metal borders reading as part of the pattern rather than as gaps between stones.

Care Instructions

  • Remove before swimming, showering, or applying lotions and perfumes (especially for plated finishes)
  • Moissanite is 9.25 Mohs — extremely durable; clean gently with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft-bristled brush
  • The bezel setting fully protects each stone's girdle; the box setting's raised profile provides edge protection for the setting as a whole
  • Store in a dry, closed box when not worn
