Pear-cut lab amethyst. Green lab sapphire leaf band. An 8×6mm lavender center stone paired with round green accent stones in a botanical leaf setting — February and September birthstones together in one ring.

This amethyst leaf band ring features an 8×6mm pear-cut lab-created amethyst as the center stone in a prong setting, set on a band accented with round lab-created green sapphire stones arranged in a leaf motif. The amethyst's soft lavender sits against the green sapphire accents — a purple-and-green color pairing that echoes natural botanical combinations (the color of blooms against foliage) and gives the ring a distinctly nature-inspired character. The pear cut's teardrop silhouette, with its single pointed end and rounded base, is one of the most distinctive engagement ring shapes — elongating the finger while the point draws the eye upward toward the center of the stone. Available in 925 sterling silver, yellow gold plated, or rose gold plated in whole and quarter sizes from US 3 to 10 1/4. Handcrafted in Jaipur.

The Amethyst and Green Sapphire Color Pairing

Amethyst's color range runs from pale lilac to deep violet-purple, with lavender sitting in the lighter, cooler end of that range — a soft, translucent purple with a blue-gray undertone rather than the saturated red-purple of darker amethyst. Green sapphire occupies the yellow-green to blue-green range of the sapphire color spectrum — a stone color significantly less common in jewelry than blue sapphire, and one that tends toward a muted, earthy green rather than the vivid emerald-green of tourmaline or tsavorite. Together, the lavender amethyst and muted green sapphire produce a color combination that reads as botanical and nature-inspired — the cool purple of the center against the earthy green of the surrounding stones creating a composition that feels simultaneously floral and grounded. Rose gold or rose-plated metal is a natural pairing for this combination, its warm copper-pink undertone warming both the cool lavender and the muted green without competing with either color.

The Pear Cut: Teardrop Solitaire

The pear cut — also called the teardrop cut — combines the pointed tip of a marquise with the rounded base of an oval, creating an asymmetric shape with a single apex at one end and a smooth curve at the other. In a ring setting, the pear is typically oriented with the point toward the fingernail, which visually elongates the finger and draws the eye up along the finger's length. The pear cut's outline is immediately distinctive and recognizable — neither the perfectly symmetrical round nor the rectangular precision of an emerald cut, but an organic teardrop shape that reads as both romantic and architectural. At 8×6mm, the center stone has a significant presence on the finger: a stone size large enough to be clearly visible and read as a statement piece, while remaining within a proportional range that works comfortably as an everyday ring.

About Lab Amethyst

Amethyst is a variety of quartz with its violet-to-purple color caused by iron impurities and irradiation within the crystal structure. It has a hardness of 7 Mohs — suitable for ring wear with normal care — and has been one of the most prized gemstones since antiquity: used in ancient Egyptian jewelry, worn by medieval European clergy as a symbol of piety, and considered a precious stone on par with ruby and sapphire until large Brazilian deposits were discovered in the 19th century and dramatically reduced its rarity. It is the February birthstone. Lab-created amethyst shares the same mineral composition and optical properties as natural amethyst, ethically sourced and conflict-free.

Care Instructions

  • Remove before swimming, showering, or applying lotions and perfumes (especially for plated finishes)
  • Amethyst is 7 Mohs — clean gently with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft-bristled brush
  • Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can fade amethyst's color over time
  • Store in a dry, closed box when not worn
